Our Impact

Digital technology is an essential part of modern life and needs to be accessible and inclusive for everyone. Much of the technology being developed today is not designed with the needs of people with disabilities in mind, excluding them from opportunities and limiting their participation in many routine activities. Individuals and disability advocacy groups are working to ensure that technology companies are building accessible products. When technology is designed and developed to be accessible it can reduce barriers for people with disabilities, increasing opportunities to work, learn, communicate, and engage in daily life.

Since our founding in 2015, our investments in creating student learning opportunities, providing faculty grants to teach accessibility, and developing accessibility toolkits and resources have provided proof of concept. Through targeting education institutions to provide opportunities for learners to gain accessibility skills, more candidates considering careers in technology are doing so with knowledge and commitment to designing and developing accessible technology.

With your help, Teach Access is positioned to significantly scale our efforts and reach 1 million students by 2030, making extraordinary progress toward eliminating the technology skills gap and building toward a world where all technology is born accessible.

Other Ways to Help

While we greatly appreciate every financial donation we receive, we also appreciate other types of support. Consider helping us advance our mission by engaging in any of the following ways:

We Respect Your Privacy

Teach Access is committed to respecting the privacy of its financial and in-kind donors, whether the donation is made online, by mail, or any other method. When you make a financial or in-kind donation, you provide your name and contact information. Financial donors provide standard payment information including, in many circumstances, credit card data. We protect your information in a variety of ways, as described below.

We use industry standard safeguards to protect your information. Many donors use credit cards for donations. We protect the security of credit card transactions using a number of measures such as encryption, access controls, network firewalls, and physical security. These measures make it extremely difficult for anyone to intercept the credit card information you send to us. When we work with other companies to process credit card transactions, those companies also use encryption and other appropriate security measures.

We will not sell, share or trade our donors’ personally identifiable information with any other entity, except as described below. In addition, we will not send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations, unless a donor has given us specific permission to do so. Teach Access has vendors that assist with processing and managing donations and donor data. We give these vendors access to donor data. Our vendors are bound by strict confidentiality rules and are permitted to use donor data only to support Teach Access operations.
